Social Media Coordinator

This is a contract position for the 2026 festival. The successful applicant will begin immediately and work until mid-April 2026.

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for managing the festival’s social media presence across platforms including Instagram and Facebook. This role focuses on content coordination, copywriting, scheduling, posting, and community management, based on an approved editorial calendar and key messaging documents.

This role works closely with the Marketing Coordinator and requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and comfortable working independently within an approval-based workflow.

 
This role requires attendance at all festival events, including:
March 31, 2026 - The Buffies, our local award show and mixer
April 1, 2026 - Tit Talks, our education series
April 3-4, 2026 - Performer Showcases

Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate, schedule, and post social media content across VIBF platforms

  • Write engaging, on-brand social media copy aligned with provided messaging guidelines

  • Coordinate creative assets with designers and the Marketing Coordinator

  • Present social media content for approval prior to publishing

  • Monitor direct messages, comments, mentions, and tags, and respond or flag as appropriate

  • Re-share tagged content and engage with performers, partners, and audiences

  • Support festival-week social activity, including monitoring accounts and coordinating with on-site social helpers

  • Provide a simple end-of-cycle social media report (reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth)

  • Strictly adhere to VIBF’s Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, and Confidentiality policies

Qualifications

We are interested in working with someone who is excited to help promote this milestone festival.

  • Intermediate experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand

  • Strong writing skills and attention to tone and detail

  • Experience with content scheduling and coordination

  • Familiarity with Google Drive and Google Workspace

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Experience with arts, culture, or nonprofit social media is considered an asset

  • Experience with burlesque or adult arts is considered an asset
