Marketing Coordinator
This is a contract position for the 2026 festival. The successful applicant will begin immediately and work until mid-April 2026.
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing the festival’s marketing and communications activities across digital and traditional channels. This role will be provided with an approved marketing plan, editorial calendar, and key messaging documents, and will be responsible for coordinating and delivering on that plan in the lead-up to the festival.
This is a communications-forward role and includes administrative coordination, media outreach, website updates, and email communications. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to ensure consistent messaging and visibility for the festival.
Responsibilities

Execute the approved marketing plan, editorial calendar, and messaging framework

Coordinate outbound communications, announcements, and promotional materials

Manage and send email communications (newsletters, announcements, updates) using an email marketing platform

Lead media outreach, press pitching, and follow-ups

Maintain and update the VIBF website (Wix), including content and event information

Liaise with designers, board members, contributors, and partners to coordinate marketing materials

Provide review and sign-off on social media content prior to posting

Attend board meetings when required to provide marketing updates

Support administrative marketing tasks in the lead-up to the festival

Strictly adhere to VIBF’s Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, and Confidentiality policies
Qualifications

Intermediate marketing experience (arts, nonprofit, agency, in-house, or equivalent)

Strong organizational and project coordination skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Experience with marketing across digital and traditional channels

Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar)

Working knowledge of Google Drive and Google Workspace

Website experience (Wix or similar) is considered an asset

Experience with burlesque, theatre, or adult arts is considered an asset
