Performer Liaison

This is a contract position for the 2025 festival. The work will be done from early January until mid April 2025.

The Performer Liaison will be the main point of contact for performers to reach out to during the festival. They will help ensure a smooth flow of communication so every performer knows what’s happening over the week of the festival. This is a communication forward role and will have you doing some administrative work in the lead up to the festival and will require attendance at all events which include the following:   

Date TBA - The Buffies, our local award show and mixer
Date TBA - Tit Talks, our education series
April 4th and 5th - Performer Showcases

Responsibilities 

  • Be the main point of contact for non-headliner/feature performers.

  • Communicate with these performers via email as needed.

  • Provide all necessary information for venue locations, airport transportation, afterparties, workshops, etc. to performers.

  • Liaise with the Education Coordinator to assist with non-headliner/feature instructors.

  • Liaise with Stage Management & Board to disseminate tech schedules, call times, setlists, etc. to performers, and help coordinate any requested schedule changes.

  • Liaise with emcees for any last-minute act intro changes.

  • Be present for the setup of backstage.

  • Oversee dressing room assignments and signage, with input from Stage Manager & Board.

  • Collaborate with green room volunteers (food prep and supervision of green room during showcases).

  • Make sure all performer lanyards and thank you cards/gifts are prepared and distributed, and support performer check-in, with assistance from volunteers.

  • Utilize VIBF’s Google Drive to store all information and works-in-progress.

  • Utilize Slack to regularly communicate with VIBF Board.

  • Report to the Board after the Festival.

  • Strictly adhere to code of conduct, conflict of interest policies, and confidentiality policies

Qualifications

We are interested in working with someone who is passionate about helping this unique festival run smoothly!

  • Organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Reliability 

  • Experience with burlesque and theatre production an asset

  • Experience working with Google Drive considered an asset

  • Involvement in the burlesque community is considered an asset
